The Jean-Claude & Roxie Edition

So much going on but mostly starting with Jean-Claude and Roxie ripping through the house.  I'm officially on the beach.  What that means is that my first client in Houston has ended and I am waiting for my next project.  I actually have a project but am waiting for all of the red tape to finish so we can start and it looks like I'll be going back to Houston.  At some point I guess I'll have to move to Houston so I don't have to travel lol.

I would also like to thank MS & ZS for the wonderful house gift!  I would also like to thank DPA for lunch!  And I would like to thank AR for getting me into the spot for free last weekend!

That being said we'll divide this blog into Rants and Raves.  Let's start with the Raves first

Clarke Peters - disclaimer, he's my cousin.  He is a fantastic actor from the The Wire which just ended it's five years last Sunday.

Eyrkah Badu's new album - New Amerykah.  It's pretty typical Erykah with a mix of styles and genres

Being on the beach - it's like a mini-vacation

Jean-Claude & Roxie - so cute.  I got to take them to the vet, sleep with them and just enjoy them in the house

Beyonce's new womanhood.  As she's gotten older, I realize that her lyrics really reflect what is going on in my life - the lyrics to Flaws & All and the lyric in Upgrade U which goes - still play my part and let you take the lead role.  I've been asked several times of of late why I think there are so many single black women.  A complex question, but my answer in simplistic terms is 1) women not owning their own womanhood and realizing they are worthy of being pursued and 2) women overdoing the independent thing and not making their men feel like men.

Rants

Flavor of Love 3 - these women are really scraping the bottom of the barrel.  None are attractive and they take chickenhead to a whole new level

Vista - it's slow and while visually appealing takes forever to do anything

Verizon - the most complicated, unreliable service.  Their website was down for 3 weeks so i couldn't pay my bill and forget trying to call someone

Hillary Clinton - the Clinton machine at it's best also shows them at their worst.

So you are stuck on the beach? I can imagine that you are enjoying the online tutorials to keep you busy. LOL

I saw your profile on LinkedIN as a possible match for mine which is how I came across your blog again. As usual, you make some very pointed observations.

I can't believe you don't like the Flavor of Love 3. I admit that it is my guilty viewing pleasure. How can you not like "Thing 1 & Thing 2", "Myaammee", or "Hotlanta"? These women are no different than those on the Bachelor or The Rock of Love so I make no comment about them. They are all there for their moment of fame and really tells us that many people will do anything to be on TV.

Thanks for the heads up on Verizon. They just wired my complex (I moved to Edgewater in January) and I've been hesitant to order their service although my parents have it and it works well for them.
