Review and Preview

So, we've gone thru finals already. What a bear. On our accounting final, the mean was a 69! There are folks who are accountants taking this class. It was amazing. Luckily I beat the mean (although barely) so that means I pass the class.

The thing in business school is that you will never be so happy to pass a class in your life. If I get all satisfactories, I will be extremely satisfied, b/c it definitely won't reflect my level of knowledge and growth.  I am still continiously surprised by how smart, yet down to earth my classmates are.  There are very, very few of the kinds of people you would normally associate with business school.  I LOVE how I get challenged everyday!

Why does the public condemn big business?  It seems that if they actually even understood the word business they would embrace it.  They love to hold up the CEO as robberbarons out for profit.  Profit is a GREAT thing.  You can achieve profit and still be socially concious.  You can achieve profit and still give employees livable wages and conditions.

Why do we spend our lives looking for a quick fix?  I've been undergoing a tremendous amount of personal growth (and no, I won't post it here, it's personal) and I absolutely understand that it is a day by day process.  No matter what the problem is, personal, professional, family or the man on the corner who goes thru the trash, there is no quick fix.  America wants healthcare for all.  Well guess what, there is no one solution to that problem.  Racisim. No good solution.  Why are we looking for instant all the time?

So what has been going on in my world? Well, I went to Boston and was there the night the Sox won the Series. It was anti-climatic. I think the fans really felt like they won when they beat the Yankees. There was a thrill in the air, but folks were pretty calm. I think the fact someone died after the playoffs had something to do with it as well.

then I jetted down to NYC to hang out w/ folks and get my hair rebraided. It felt nice to see strangers although I wound up hanging out with folks from my school.

Well tonight is the election and I can fully say

"The only bush I trust is my own"

I still can't believe how people can so blindly follow this man? Well, I can understand how he can have supporters, and I respect those people that have a valid argument, but so many people are going along the lines of "Well, he is the president"

What the eff? So what?!?!?! What has he done for you? Do people realize some of the sneaky things he has passed through to this country?

I am pretty much out of the pop culture loop, but I have heard about the R. Kelly and Jay-Z mess. Why people, why? Come on R. Now that your case is gone you need the loot to pay the lawyers?  Oh well, I am off to the gym, later!
